PH Dominates 11th BIMP-EAGA Games

The Philippines' Team A won the 11th BIMP-EAGA (Brunei-Darussalam Indonesia Malaysia Philippines-East ASEAN Growth Area) overall championship after dominating the competition in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. 

According to the final count, the Filipinos won 23 gold medals, 23 silvers, and 31 bronzes en route to the overall title. 

Team Philippines E, representing host Puerto Princesa City, took third place with 10 golds, 6 silvers, and 5 bronzes, while Malaysia Team B (Sabah) finished in second place with 10 golds, 14 silvers, and 12 bronzes.

Palawan pride

Under the leadership of Philip Adrian Sahagun of Team A and Quendy Fernandez of Team E (Puerto Princesa City), the Philippine teams won 25 of the 29 swimming golds, dominating the swimming competition.

Fernandez, the pride of Puerto Princesa, had silver in the 4×100 medley relay and gold in the 200-meter girls' backstroke, bringing home five golds and two silvers at the end of the games.

Sahagun of Team A also put on an impressive display, helping the team win the 4×100-meter medley relay and taking home the gold in the 200-meter boys' backstroke, winning five gold medals at the end of the competition.

No one left behind

Every participating delegation won a medal, including Brunei-Darussalam with 2-2-4, PH Team C with 1-3-1, PH Team D with 1-2-4, and Malaysia Team A (Labuan) with 2-3-2.

Indonesia, with 7-7-5 medals, and PH Team B, with 6-5-5, were also in the top five.
