PH Shooters Capture 41 Golds in 2024 Australasia Handgun/PCC Championship

Philippine Army personnel and reservists demonstrated their marksmanship at the 2024 International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Australasia Handgun/PCC Championship, winning 41 gold medals across many disciplines. The event was held at Pecatu Bali, Indonesia, last September.

According to the Philippine Army, its emphasis on improving warfighting capabilities and preparedness through advanced marksmanship training is what led to its triumph in worldwide competition.

Standout winners

Team Philippines won the overall victory in the Classic Category, with TSg Willard Carrera ruling the Team Production Division and Maj. Lenard Lopez taking the Team Classic Division Championship.

As a member of the Production Optics champion team, SSg Jerome Morales (RES) stood out as the Senior Champion. He also won the Production Optics Senior Shoot-Off Champion title.

Ltc Mark Anthony Lasam PA, Ltc Hans Oliver Bearneza PA, Maj Allan Guibone PA and reservist Edrick Chan also topped their respective events in the dominant showing in the competition.

Prestigious win

In terms of practical shooting, the IPSC is the biggest and oldest association in the world. Every three years, the IPSC level 4 Australasia Handgun Championship is held in Australasia.

Sen. Ronaldo “Bato” Dela Rosa was among the ones who congratulated the Army for their victories in the international competition.
