A multifunctional facility valued at PHP1.5 million will soon be available to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the isolated community of Nagsurot, Burgos, Ilocos Norte, enabling them to produce high-value crops throughout the year.
The official transfer of the greenhouse, intended to assist ARBs in increasing their output in the face of climate change issues, is anticipated to take place in the second quarter of this year.
The initiative, which consists of capability training and other elements, has been allocated PHP 1.5 million, according to Vic Ines, the provincial agricultural reform officer.
The Burgos local government unit has downloaded the fund for implementation.
Because of the greenhouse facility. ARBs can cultivate more crops year-round that are shielded from bad weather
The facility has also been expanded to include seedling tables, potting medium, seeds, and seedling trays.
Following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s food security agenda, DAR has been promoting contemporary farming technologies and giving ARBs access to contemporary farm equipment.
Since taking office, Marcos has promoted access to healthy food security while enhancing and fortifying the nation's agricultural sector, which is crucial to mitigating the effects of climate change and fostering economic expansion.
