Bulacan is taking a bold leap toward the future of farming with the launch of the Metro Pacific Fresh Farms (MPFF) greenhouse facility in San Rafael—now the largest vegetable greenhouse in the country. The high-tech agricultural project, backed by Metro Pacific Agro Ventures (MPAV) and Israel’s LR Group, marks a significant step in transforming the province into a leader in modern and sustainable food production.

During his visit to the facility, Governor Daniel Fernando lauded the project as a milestone for Bulacan’s agricultural progress, noting its potential to reshape the local farming landscape through innovation and collaboration.

Pioneering Modern Farming in Bulacan

The state-of-the-art facility operates using controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) technology, which allows the year-round cultivation of premium-quality vegetables with minimal dependence on water and soil. This efficient and sustainable system highlights how innovation can directly improve productivity and resilience in the agricultural sector.

Fernando praised the project’s alignment with the province’s long-term development goals, emphasizing its contribution to both food security and economic growth.

This project is a clear proof that with the joint action of the public and private sectors, we can accelerate the sustainable development of agriculture in the province and also create a stronger future for the farmers of Bulacan,” the governor explained in Filipino.

Driving Sustainability and Expansion

Metro Pacific Fresh Farms has announced plans to double its size by 2026, an expansion expected to cement Bulacan’s reputation as a center of agricultural innovation. The project demonstrates how the province is embracing technology not only to ensure food supply but also to uplift local farming communities.

Governor Fernando also highlighted the power of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable provincial growth, underscoring that collaboration is essential in building a modern, resilient agricultural sector.

By integrating technology and community-driven development, Bulacan’s partnership with MPFF represents a major stride toward the future—one where farming is smarter, greener, and more inclusive.
