The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a road improvement project that will benefit farmers in Tarlac's agricultural community.
The two-lane, five-meter-wide road has now stretched to 2.106 kilometers long, according to District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos of DPWH-Tarlac's 2nd District Engineering Office.
Enhancing trade among agricultural barangays
According to the DPWH, the road project will connect Barangay Sta. Rosa in Concepcion and Barangay Talaga in Capas, Tarlac, with residents from both districts enjoying improved mobility and accessibility.
The DPWH has also put up five solar LED lights along the route, increasing road safety, lowering the chance of accidents, and improving visibility at night.
Additionally, it is paved with 200 mm thick Portland Concrete Cement Pavement, which offers a dependable and secure path between the two barangays.
Residents and drivers can now travel faster and more efficiently thanks to the wider route, while also improving accessibility and promoting community development.
Helping farmers
Since the road would make it simpler to carry goods to markets–cutting down on delivery times and expenses while increasing agricultural output–the local farmers would earn more in their everyday living.
This PHP19.79 million project was financed by the national budget for 2024.
