A new land-tour package that includes the Bued Mangrove Park, St. Joseph Cathedral, Bolo Beach, the engineered kawayan (bamboo) plant, and its market is now being offered by the Alaminos City Tourism Office as they go beyond the usual Hundred Islands tours.
According to the Philippine News Agency, the city is increasing its tourism offers in order to increase visitor numbers and support tourism-related jobs.
What to look forward in Alaminos
The 448-meter boardwalk at Barangay Bued's Bued Mangrove Park is accessible to the public starting at 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Since migratory birds are frequently spotted in the area, bird viewing is one of the park's attractions.
Bolo Beach, located outside of the city, boasts a spotless white sand beach. For those who prefer to party or simply relax, a number of resorts and other tourist destinations provide a variety of culinary experiences.
In contrast, tourists may observe firsthand how the bamboo souvenirs that have won awards are manufactured at the kawayan factory.
Hundred Islands’ decline
Arrivals of tourists in the Hundred Islands decreased by over 12 percent to 386,073 in 2024 from 438,619 in the previous year.
Following weather-related disruptions that impacted visitor arrivals in Hundred Islands last year, the local government is eager to attract more tourists this year.
