The year 2025 offers several opportunities for Filipinos to enjoy long weekends, ideal for relaxation, travel, or quality time with loved ones. With a combination of regular holidays, special non-working days, and smart leave planning, 2025 promises extended breaks that are perfect for a mini vacation or simply unwinding. Here’s a quick guide to the best long weekends of the year:

Key Long Weekends in 2025

The year kicks off with a rare five-day break from December 28, 2024 (Saturday) to January 1, 2025 (Wednesday), which includes Rizal Day (December 30), New Year’s Eve (December 31), and New Year’s Day (January 1). Later in the year, Labor Day on May 1 (Thursday) creates a four-day break when paired with a leave day on May 2 (Friday), extending until May 4 (Sunday). The Holy Week break from April 17 (Thursday) to April 20 (Sunday) also offers a few days to reflect and rest.

In June, Independence Day (June 12, Thursday) becomes a four-day weekend when combined with leave on June 13 (Friday), running through June 15 (Sunday). In August, Ninoy Aquino Day (August 21, Thursday) and National Heroes Day (August 25, Monday) create a five-day long weekend when you add a leave on August 22 (Friday).

November brings two long weekends: one from October 31 (Friday) to November 2 (Sunday) for All Saints’ Day and another from November 29 (Saturday) to December 1 (Monday) for Bonifacio Day.

December wraps up the year with multiple extended breaks, including the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 6-8) and the Christmas holidays (December 24-29). The year ends with a six-day stretch from December 30 (Tuesday) to January 4, 2026 (Sunday), making it a grand finale.
