At the new Intuit Dome, the LA Clippers' Filipino Heritage Night transformed into a celebration of Filipino patriotism as the team's dance group energized the audience with the sounds of "Cherry on Top," BINI's most recent single.
Even though BINI didn't play live, their song's inclusion in the halftime show gave fans a taste of P-pop, bringing some of the Philippines to the NBA stage.
Filipino heritage celebration
During the half of the Los Angeles Clippers' game against the Toronto Raptors, the Clippers Spirit, the franchise's official dance team, performed the song.
Several Filipino performers joined the Clippers Spirit for the performance, which was a part of the celebration of the Clippers' Filipino Heritage Night.
The song selection felt particularly intimate because many people on the internet believed that one of the performers or the show's choreographer might even be a "Bloom"—the loyal BINI fan group.
Not fake news
Regarding their response to the clip, BINI Aiah said, "Akala namin fake news!"
BINI had expressed gratitude to the Clippers Spirit for their performance on their official X account.
"Thank you for bringing BINI and the Pinoy spirit to the NBA!" the group said.
