The country’s fashion calendar is heating up this October as a major new platform steps into the spotlight, aiming to bring Filipino creativity onto the global stage. Manila Fashion Week is officially set to debut its inaugural run, gathering some of the most exciting homegrown designers and brands to showcase the future of Philippine fashion.
What began as BYS Fashion Week has evolved into a more ambitious and inclusive event designed to build a full-fledged fashion ecosystem. From October 16 to 19, the Samsung Hall at SM Aura Premier in Taguig City will transform into a hub of style and innovation, hosting four days of shows that feature Andrea Tetangco, Viktor, Oxgn, Chris Nick, Iñigo, DBTK, Viña Romero, and Randolf.

A New Flagship for Filipino Fashion
Manila Fashion Week founder John Lozano envisions the platform as the country’s flagship fashion event—on par with the region’s biggest showcases like Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Bangkok Fashion Weeks.
“Hopefully, we want it to be the flagship fashion week of the country, in the same breath as our counterparts in neighboring countries like Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, Jakarta Fashion Week, and Bangkok Fashion Week,” Lozano shared in an interview.
He added that the upcoming shows will deliver the same level of excellence audiences came to expect from BYS Fashion Week, with even more refined execution after three years of experience.
A Launchpad for Global Recognition
For Lozano, the goal goes beyond the runway. He stressed that while the Philippines is brimming with talent, platforms to showcase local designers remain limited. Manila Fashion Week hopes to bridge that gap by giving Filipino creators a stage to tell their stories and present their craft to both regional and international audiences.
“The key to making Filipino fashion global is working together. We are stronger together,” Lozano said. “Of course, everyone can hold their own fashion shows, but I believe that when we unite—when we come together—we become much stronger. That’s what we want to promote through Manila Fashion Week. These eight designers will help push Filipino fashion forward.”
With its debut, Manila Fashion Week positions itself as both a celebration of Filipino artistry and a launchpad toward global recognition—signaling a new era for the country’s fashion industry.
