A new generation is redefining Pinoy romance, and they’re doing it with viral edits, fandom hashtags, and major on-screen chemistry. These Gen Z loveteams aren’t just trending; they’re shaping how Filipino love stories are told today.
Here are 7 tandems currently dominating the scene:
1. DonBelle (Donny Pangilinan & Belle Mariano)
Star Magic’s DonBelle rose to massive popularity through the hit series “He’s Into Her” in 2021, which became a rom-com staple during the pandemic. They followed it up with the film “Love Is Color Blind” later that year, while their latest project was “Can’t Buy Me Love,” released in 2023.
2. FranSeth (Francine Diaz & Seth Fedelin)
Another loveteam to come out of the Star Magic roster, FranSeth gained attention in “Kadenang Ginto” back in 2018. They later headlined projects like 2023’s “Dirty Linen,” which showcased a more mature and layered dynamic that resonated with viewers.
3. AshDres (Ashtine Olviga & Andres Muhlach)
As one of the newer Gen Z loveteams, AshDres built momentum when they scored the lead roles in Viva One’s adaptation of Wattpad’s “Ang Mutya ng Section E,” which is currently on its second season, and the film “Minamahal” in 2025.
4. RabGel (Rabin Angeles & Angela Muji)
Fun fact: while their characters in “Ang Mutya ng Section E” are not together, RabGel’s chemistry scored them the lead roles in another Viva One and Wattpad series, “Seducing Drake Palma.” Their latest project is the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean movie “A Werewolf Boy.”
5. Team Jolly (Sofia Pablo & Allen Ansay)
Hopping over to GMA, Team Jolly has become a standout pairing in recent years, especially in the network’s Afternoon Prime block. They started their tandem through 2020’s “Prima Donnas: Book 2,” which then snowballed into more shows, including 2025’s “Princesa ng City Jail.”
6. WillCa/DustBia (Bianca de Vera & Will Ashley/Dustin Yu)
If there are any gems from the first Celebrity Collab Edition of “Pinoy Big Brother,” it’s this love triangle. Composed of Kapuso housemates Will Ashley and Dustin Yu and Kapamilya housemate Bianca de Vera, they gained their dynamic during the show, which crossed over to the 2025 MMFF entry “Love You So Bad.”
As these Gen Z loveteams capture the hearts of today’s society, one can’t help but wonder: will they stand the test of time a la John Lloyd and Bea? If past tandems can make a comeback, only time will tell if they’ll share the same fate down the line.
