Early morning queues at public hospitals may soon be a thing of the past. The Department of Health (DOH) has launched the Patient Appointment System (PAS), offering a faster, more convenient way for Filipinos to schedule consultations at government-run hospitals.

Now available at three facilities in Manila—Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, San Lazaro Hospital, and Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital—the new system allows patients to book appointments online in just a few minutes.

“This is very important so that the time and money of patients will not be wasted,” said Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa at the launch in Fabella Hospital. He added that the system addresses long-standing complaints of long queues and missed appointments.

Easy Booking in Just a Few Clicks

Patients can visit patientappointment.doh.gov.ph, select the hospital and service they need, choose a date and time, and fill out a short form. Once confirmed, they simply take a screenshot of their appointment details to present at the hospital.

For those without internet access, hospitals will provide computer kiosks and assistance from staff to help with the booking process.

PAS follows the same online appointment model already used for securing passports and NBI clearances, offering a familiar and user-friendly experience.

A Welcome Change for Patients

According to Secretary Herbosa, the PAS reflects President Marcos’ directive to improve access to quality public health services. If successful, the system will expand to all 87 DOH-run hospitals across the country.

With PAS, the DOH is taking a concrete step toward a more patient-centered, efficient public healthcare system—no more pre-dawn lines, just timely care when it's needed most.
