Around 1,500 paddlers from 26 countries will compete in the 2024 International Canoe Federation (ICF) Dragon Boat World Championships in the City of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
For the first time, a Southeast Asian nation will host the international event, which also qualifies athletes for the international Games in Chengdu, China, next year.
In terms of participating nations, the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships will be the largest.

European powerhouses, including Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, and the Czech Republic are entering the competition.
In the Asia-Pacific region, China will compete alongside 150 athletes from India, 80 from Thailand, and 80 from Iran.
After the juniors trained in Davao and the seniors in Tanay, Rizal, 200 athletes from the Philippines will represent the country after arriving in Puerto Princesa last month.
What's at stake
Nine gold medals will be given to boys and girls in the 50-plus and juvenile divisions, while 18 gold medals are available in the Open national team event.
The 200m, 500m, and 2,000m races have a combined total of 54 gold medals up for grabs.
The tournament will take place from October 28 to November 4.
