Megaworld Corporation, a prominent player in the Philippine real estate market and a pioneer of the ‘LIVE-WORK-PLAY’ concept, is embarking on an exciting project in Ilocos Norte. The company has committed ?15 billion to develop a sprawling 84-hectare mixed-use township named Ilocandia Coastown.
Located along the beautiful western coastline of Laoag City, Ilocandia Coastown is set to become a premier beachfront destination. The township will include high-end residential areas, a lively shophouse district, a commercial center, and a central town hub designed to serve as a focal point for the community. The architecture will reflect a blend of Filipino and Spanish cultural influences, adding a distinctive charm to the area.
Among its many attractions, Ilocandia Coastown features a stunning 1.4-kilometer beachfront, complemented by the famous sand dunes that draw visitors to Ilocos Norte. Its prime location adjacent to the well-known Fort Ilocandia Hotel, along with its proximity to Laoag International Airport and the historic Paoay Church, enhances its appeal as a vibrant community.
Promising Economic Growth and Opportunities
Recent studies from the Philippine Statistics Authority have positioned the Ilocos region as one of the country's fastest-growing economies, ranking just behind Central and Western Visayas. In addition, Laoag City has been recognized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology as a viable business hub through its Digital Cities 2025 initiative.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our investments in the Ilocos Region, particularly in Laoag. We recognize the significant potential in tourism and are eager to explore these opportunities with Ilocandia Coastown,” said Kevin L. Tan, President and CEO of Alliance Global Group, the parent company of Megaworld.
Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, President of Megaworld, remarked, “After establishing a presence in Central and Western Visayas, we are excited to enter Ilocos and complete our coverage in the three fastest-growing regions. We look forward to introducing our signature township lifestyle to this dynamic area.”
Ilocandia Coastown will mark Megaworld’s 34th township development and its first venture in Northern Luzon, underscoring the company's dedication to building integrated communities that promote both quality living and economic growth in the region. Over the next decade, this ambitious project is set to redefine the landscape of Laoag City and elevate the living standards of its future residents.
