PrimeWater San Jose del Monte, in collaboration with the SJDM Water District, is on track to complete key water supply upgrades designed to bolster water service across San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, by the end of June 2025.
The upgrades are part of a long-term effort to modernize the city's water system and improve access for residents amid growing demand. As San Jose del Monte continues to experience rapid residential development and population growth, the need for a more efficient and reliable water supply system has become increasingly urgent.
Transmission Line Extension to Reach Higher Elevations
The Transmission Line Segment2 Extension — spanning from Barangay Tungkong Mangga to Barangay Gaya-Gaya (Segment1) — aims to bring consistent water service to elevated zones that have traditionally faced supply shortfalls. Once operational, the new line is expected to deliver 16 to 24 hours of daily water supply, benefiting roughly 18,000 existing concessionaires and accommodating around 4,000 new service connections.
PrimeWater management confirmed that the project is in its final stages. “We are upgrading both our storage and transmission systems to ensure sufficient supply for our concessionaires,” the company stated, adding they are confident subscribers will feel the benefits soon.
System-Wide Capacity Boost and Interconnection Upgrade
Since the joint venture began, overall water output for SJDM has surged from 85.223 million liters per day (MLD) to 122.356 MLD, marking a significant increase in supply capacity.
In addition, Interconnection Point 2 in Barangay Muzon Poblacion has already been completed, linking multiple water sources to improve pressure and address supply limitations in one of the city’s densest areas. This upgrade benefits about 28,000 concessionaires, helping balance system flow across neighborhoods.
Strengthening Supply Amid Urban Growth
Combined, these upgrades showcase PrimeWater and the SJDM Water District's commitment to keeping pace with San Jose del Monte’s rapid residential and population growth. By enhancing distribution networks, fixing pressure imbalances, and expanding capacity, they aim to deliver more reliable water access to every household.
Water District officials emphasize that, as the city grows, so too must the systems that serve it. With these near-final projects, supported by robust partnerships and strategic planning, PrimeWater and SJDM Water District are laying the foundation for sustained water resilience and better service delivery in the years ahead.
