Ormoc City Clinches 2025 EVRAA Title

Ormoc City Division claimed victory in the 2025 Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA), securing the championship after an outstanding performance in the competition. The event, held across three major venues in Tacloban City, Eastern Samar, and Maasin City, saw Ormoc City rise to the top with remarkable results.

Ormoc City’s Strong Medal Haul

Ormoc City finished the competition with a total of 421 medals, including 219 golds, 134 silvers, and 68 bronzes. This is a slight improvement over their 2024 performance, where they won 411 medals (217 gold, 118 silver, and 76 bronze). The city's athletes demonstrated remarkable skill, dedication, and consistency, ensuring their place as the region's top team. Each medal earned by Ormoc athletes also comes with a cash incentive from the local government, further motivating participants to excel.

Leyte and Maasin City Take Second and Third Place

The Leyte Division followed closely behind, earning 72 gold, 48 silver, and 57 bronze medals. Despite their strong effort, they were unable to surpass Ormoc’s dominant performance. Maasin City finished in third place with 29 golds, 32 silvers, and 26 bronzes. Both Leyte and Maasin showed impressive athletic talent, highlighting the fierce competition within the region.

Baybay City to Host 2026 EVRAA

During the closing ceremony on March 9, 2025, it was announced that Baybay City will host the 2026 EVRAA. This upcoming event will provide a new venue for regional athletes to compete and offer an opportunity for Baybay to showcase its commitment to promoting sports and community engagement.

Ormoc City's victory in 2025 marks another milestone for the city’s athletic development, while Baybay City’s selection as the next host promises to elevate the competition in the years to come.
