Cadiz City will soon see the construction of a new hospital that will serve both locals and people from surrounding areas.
It is anticipated that the development of the Cadiz City Medical Center (CCMC) in Negros Occidental will improve the quality of healthcare services provided in the busy northern metropolis and other areas.
With a funding of PHP270 million from Cadiz City’s local government unit (LGU), the new hospital in Barangay Tinampaan formally opened with a groundbreaking ceremony presided over by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr.
Inside the new hospital
The CCMC will be a 50-bed medical center, complete with MRI, X-ray, and operating room equipment in full working order. In addition, it will have isolation rooms, a pharmacy, a laboratory, and medical wards.
After the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction of the new hospital is expected to be finished in 667 days.
When it opens, the new CCMC will expand the city's healthcare offerings by serving more people, particularly those from outlying barangays that the city emergency clinic and the provincial government-run Cadiz District Hospital are no longer able to serve.
First step for healthcare growth
The groundbreaking of the Cadiz City Medical Center takes place at the same time as the 50th anniversary of the Dinagsa Festival, the city's take on the Ati-Atihan celebration.
It will also be Cadiz's first significant project after being designated as a first-class component city in December of last year.
