Sinulog 2026 came to a meaningful close with its grand parade on January 18 and the awarding ceremonies on January 19, leaving Cebu City once again immersed in faith, movement, and shared celebration.
Carried by this year’s theme, “United in Faith and Love,” and the familiar call of “One Beat, One Dance, One Vision,” the festival unfolded as a collective experience that brought together devotees, performers, and visitors from different backgrounds.
One Beat
Throughout the celebration, the streets of Cebu moved to a single rhythm. Drumbeats echoed through the city as masses, processions, and street dancing competitions filled each day with purpose and energy. From quiet moments of prayer in the early morning to the intensity of the grand parade, Sinulog reflected a community bound by devotion and joy. When contingents finally took their last steps along the parade routes, the unity expressed in movement and music was felt across the crowd.
Faith and love were present not only in the performances but in the rituals that defined the festival. The forward-and-backward steps, symbolizing the flow of the river and the journey of belief, were danced with reverence and intention. Novena masses and religious processions drew thousands of devotees, reinforcing the spiritual foundation that continues to shape Sinulog year after year.
