Beginning in late October, AirAsia Philippines will begin operating flights between Manila and Nagoya as part of its network expansion in Japan.
The airline will operate flights between Chubu International Airport and Ninoy Aquino International Airport three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays starting on October 29.
Giving Filipinos more options
According to AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricardo Isla, the airline chose to launch in Nagoya to give Filipino travelers an additional destination in Japan to visit, besides Tokyo and Osaka.
According to a recent Statista report referenced by AirAsia, 48% of Filipinos said they prefer to go to Japan on vacation.
“Japan is one of the strongest regional markets for AirAsia Philippines. In fact, we have already flown 210,000 guests for the first half of 2024,” Isla said.
“We are confident that we will double the 270,000 guests flown in 2023 through our competitive airfares, more services, better flight timings and world leading service,” he added.
In time for autumn
October flights will just be in time for autumn, allowing passengers to take advantage of the milder and sunnier weather.
Famous landmarks such as Osu Shopping District, Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Shirakawa-go Village, and Nagoya Castle are all located in Nagoya. Over 57,000 Filipinos reside in Nagoya, one of the largest cities in Japan.
For flights from October 29, 2024 to March 29, 2025, travelers can purchase one-way base rate tickets for as little as PHP888 until August 11.
