Veejay Pre announced through a post on Instagram that he is leaving the FEU Tamaraws. After weeks of circulating rumors regarding his status, the speculation about him leaving the team has now been confirmed by Veejay himself.

Meeting Expectations and More

Hailing from Floridablanca, Pampanga, Veejay Pre was a key recruit for the FEU Tamaraws. Standing at 6 foot 5, he reinforced the team’s frontline, providing impeccable rebounding and a knack for scoring under the basket.

It didn’t take long for Veejay Pre to become a household name in the UAAP. At just 19 years old, he showed that he was more than capable of playing with the big boys. In his first year with the Morayta-based squad, he averaged 13.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, proving enough to be named UAAP Rookie of the Year.

No Love Lost

Veejay mentioned in his post that his family was one factor in his decision to part ways with the team.

“I can’t deny that taking this big step forward has been the hardest decision ever,” he expressed.

Despite his decision to leave, Veejay has nothing but love for the whole FEU community. He acknowledged that his experience was invaluable and helped him mature not just as a player but also as a person.

“Thank you for the life-changing, wonderful experiences and opportunities you’ve given me and my family. I owe FEU so much. I will be forever grateful as a “TAMARAW,” he said.

Looking Ahead

The FEU basketball program is now facing a major setback with the unexpected departure of Veejay Pre who was supposed to succeed the likes of former King Tamaraws, Arwind Santos,  Johnny Abarrientos, RR Garcia, and Terrence Romeo, to name a few.

Now, the school is left scrambling to fill the void both in talent and morale.
