Megaworld Strengthens Lead In Green Offices As Iloilo Tower Earns LEED Gold

Megaworld Corp. continues to strengthen its position in sustainable real estate development after its latest office tower in Iloilo Business Park earned international recognition for green building standards.

The company announced that Enterprise Two, a 12-storey office development located within its 72-hectare Iloilo City township, has been awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), marking another milestone in its expanding portfolio of environmentally certified assets.

With this latest achievement, Megaworld now holds a total of 32 LEED-certified and registered office properties, the highest among real estate developers in the Philippines. Of these, 24 office buildings have already secured certification, consisting of 12 LEED Gold and 12 LEED Silver developments, while several more projects remain under review or registration.

Enterprise Two strengthens Iloilo’s office landscape

Enterprise Two is the second building in Western Visayas to receive LEED Gold recognition, following its adjacent sister tower, Enterprise One. The development spans a gross leasable area of 39,000 square meters, with typical floor plates reaching 4,000 square meters, making it one of the largest office spaces in the region. It is positioned to serve as a key destination for IT-BPM companies expanding beyond Metro Manila.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a globally recognized green building rating system developed by the USGBC. It provides a framework for designing and operating buildings that are efficient, healthy, and cost-effective while reducing environmental impact, particularly carbon emissions.

Sustainability Features Drive Green Building Push

The certification highlights Enterprise Two’s sustainability-focused design, which includes a rainwater harvesting system, double-glazed energy-efficient windows, and reflective roofing materials designed to reduce the urban heat island effect.

The building also supports sustainable mobility through provisions such as electric vehicle charging stations and bicycle facilities, aligning with broader efforts to promote greener workplace environments in regional growth centers.
