Both low-cost airline Cebu Pacific and flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) launched a new route to Vietnam: direct flights from Cebu to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon.
According to Cebu Pacific, a promotional fare for travel from April 7 to July 31, 2025, is offered from Thursday, February 20, through February 24.
A week after PAL began operating flights between Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City, the low-cost carrier made its statement.
Non-stop flights to Ho Chi Minh
Cebu Pacific is set to launch nonstop flights from Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting on April 7.
Earlier in February, Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced that, as of May 2, 2025, it will begin operating nonstop flights between Cebu and Ho Chi Minh.
The Airbus A321, which can carry 199 passengers in business and economy class, will be used by PAL to operate the trips.
Cebu Pacific’s new airbus
Cebu Pacific made the largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history last July when it announced plans to pay $24 billion, or P1.4 trillion, for more than 150 aircraft.
The airline has previously stated that it anticipated closing 2024 with 95 aircraft, increasing its full-year 2024 seat capacity by 12% to 15% over 2023.
Ho Chi Minh is a bustling economic and commercial hub, where tourists can visit Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Opera House, and the Ben Thành Market.
