‘Drive Electric. Love Pinas’ Campaign Promotes Eco-Friendly Travel Across PH

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has teamed up with ACMobility and Mobility Access Philippines Ventures Inc., the exclusive distributor of BYD vehicles, to launch a nationwide campaign promoting sustainable travel.

The initiative, called “Drive Electric. Love Pinas,” aims to improve the tourism experience in the country by rolling out ACMobility’s ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) at key destinations.

Boosting Sustainable Tourism and Regional Access

The campaign seeks to combine modern mobility solutions with the country’s tourism infrastructure, encouraging travelers to explore different regions while minimizing their carbon footprint. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco highlighted that the campaign complements national efforts on renewable energy, energy security, and climate resilience, which are seen as pillars of long-term economic growth.

”By integrating electric mobility into tourism circuits, our Tourist Rest Areas across the Philippines, and emerging destinations, this partnership applies those priorities on the ground that strengthen access, support regional dispersal and allow tourism growth while managing environmental impact,” Frasco explained.

The program also aims to broaden tourism reach beyond traditional hotspots by combining EV infrastructure with regional development, making more areas accessible to both local and international travelers.

Seamless Travel Experience and EV Promotion

ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala described the partnership as a major step toward creating a smooth, sustainable, and widely accessible travel system nationwide.

As part of the campaign, Filipino-American content creator Wil Dasovich will showcase top tourist destinations, DOT-managed rest areas, and Michelin-recognized dining spots using BYD electric vehicles. This initiative demonstrates a fusion of eco-conscious travel and digital storytelling to inspire broader adoption of EVs among tourists and local communities.

By introducing a reliable EV network and promoting eco-friendly travel, the campaign could reduce the environmental impact of tourism in the Philippines while encouraging locals and visitors alike to embrace cleaner transport options.
