In 2025, the Technical Education and Skill Development Authority (TESDA) will prioritize enterprise-based training for its programs.
According to TESDA Deputy Director General Nelly Nita Dillera, businesses could also benefit from upskilling their employees, if they believe that TESDA's training program is in line with their employees' desire for career advancement.
She also stated that registered enterprises are also eligible for incentives that come with the programs.
Other TESDA priorities
TESDA's priority industries this year include manufacturing, electronics, and construction. These industries have been a significant contributor to the country’s exports.
Other priority areas include logistics, transportation, health, and tourism, according to TESDA.
Because the Philippines is a major producer of semiconductors, especially those used in mobile phones, there is a demand for electronics and manufacturing, as TESDA looks to fill the need this year.
Helping industries
TESDA is encouraging enterprises to register their current programs so that they can be added to the list of public skills training programs.
Communities could also get in touch with TESDA through the local government entities to enlist with the offerings.
