James Reid has ruled out getting back together with Nadine Lustre, his ex-girlfriend and former co-star. Reid said that many fans are still yearning for him and Lustre to get back together in an interview with Ogie Diaz, but he doesn't see it happening.
“I don’t think that’s going to happen…I’m always grateful for the unwavering support from fans, even as I’ve shifted to music. They continue to promote my work. But out of respect for my girlfriend, Issa (Issa Pressman), I don’t think I’ll ever do another love team,” Reid said.
Moving on
The singer-actor emphasized his want for everyone to get past his split from Lustre, which he acknowledged added weight to all of them.
In addition to saying that he and Lustre "have no problem with each other," Reid acknowledged that he had dated someone else before Pressman.
“It’s honestly depressing, and I hope people can move on and give us some peace of mind,” Reid said.
Happy for her
Reid conveyed appreciation for Lustre's present achievements, which include her relationship with Frenchman Christophe Bariou.
Reid also revealed that he intends to pursue his love of music and acting again, probably in the early months of the following year.
“I’ve learned a lot and I’m very happy with my music. Things are going well, and I’m excited to get back into acting soon,” he said in the Diaz interview.
