The news was confirmed by her son, coach Goldwin Monteverde, on Sunday, August 4, 2024. In a heartfelt statement posted on Regal Entertainment's social media accounts, the family shared that Mother Lily spent her final moments surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her passing follows closely after the death of her husband, Leonardo “Father Remy” Monteverde, who passed away on July 29, 2024. The family expressed comfort in knowing that she has reunited with her husband in eternity.

Mother Lily's impact on Philippine cinema is immeasurable. As the matriarch of Regal Entertainment, she played a crucial role in shaping the local film industry.
