The 8th Eddy Awards–organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd)--honored the finest achievements in Philippine cinema on Sunday night, July 20, in Pasay City.
Gritty drama Green Bones dominated the evening, winning Best Picture, Best Director for Zig Dulay, and major acting awards for Dennis Trillo (Best Actor) and Ruru Madrid (Best Supporting Actor, shared with Aga Muhlach for Uninvited). It also bagged Best Cinematography.
Marian Rivera took home Best Actress for her role in Balota, while Lorna Tolentino won Best Supporting Actress for Espantaho, which also received Best Visual Effects.
Other winners included My Future You (Best Editing, Best Original Theme Song) and Under A Piaya Moon (Best Screenplay). The Kingdom was recognized for Best Production Design, Isang Himala for Best Musical Score (Vincent De Jesus), and Topakk for Best Sound.
Special Awards
Several individuals and companies were recognized for their contributions to the industry:

- * Producer of the Year – GMA Pictures
- * Joe Quirino Memorial Award – Ogie Diaz
- * Manny Pichel Memorial Award – Crispina Belen
- * Isah V. Red Award – RS Francisco
Seven respected figures were honored with the Movie Icon Award: Laurice Guillen, Odette Khan, Perla Bautista, Pen Medina, Rosemarie Gil, Eddie Mesa, and Kidlat Tahimik.
Box Office Heroes
This year’s Box Office Hero Awardees included fan favorites Alden Richards, Kathryn Bernardo, Joshua Garcia, Julia Barretto, and Vice Ganda, recognized for their commercial success and audience impact.
