Metro Pacific Agro Ventures (MPAV), the fully owned agriculture division of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), made an investment in the Carmen's Best Group to add locally sourced fresh milk to its lineup, grow and enhance its dairy farm, and improve the production of dairy products.

According to Jovy Hernandez, the goal of the new product line is to improve the nation's dairy industry by collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including farmers, academic institutions, and the local governments.

Steps taken

In order to supplement their supply, 39 dairy farmer families have received assistance, according to Toby Gatchalian, MPAV's chief commercial officer.

The brand is a force for change, as only about 1% of the nation's dairy needs are met domestically.

The company purchased Universal Harvesters Dairy Farm Inc. in Maramag, Bukidnon province, in order to strive for a statewide distribution presence.

Supporting local farmers

Making ice cream using milk that is acquired locally helps local farmers and lessens the transportation sector's carbon footprint.

The richness and smoothness of the ice cream are enhanced by fresh, premium milk, giving each bite a deeper, more genuine taste.
