In order to improve public services and local administration, the Iligan City government has teamed up with tech firm Mata Technologies to create cutting-edge, tech-driven solutions.

“The partnership with Mata Technologies is a crucial part of our development agenda,” Iligan Mayor Frederick Siao said. “This move demonstrates our commitment to modernizing government operations and leveraging technology to better serve the people of Iligan.”

Smart City vision

??The partnership supports the city's long-term goal of creating a smart city.

A smart city is referred to as "an innovative urban area that uses technology and innovation to enhance the overall functionality, sustainability, and livability of urban areas, making them more responsive to the needs of their inhabitants and the environment," according to the Department of Science and Technology.

As an information and communications technology specialist, Mata Technologies specializes in creating immersive 360-degree virtual tours and virtual maps, both of which will be incorporated into the Iligan's planned projects.

Landmark signing

Mata Technologies founder Ericka Sancho stressed the importance of the collaboration, describing it as a historic accomplishment for the area.

“Few cities and municipalities are as proactive in pursuing technological advancements to improve governance and public services,” she said.

Siao signed the IT company's memorandum of understanding.
