The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has released the full schedule of repair and rehabilitation works along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), covering the period from December 28, 2025, to January 5, 2026. The ongoing works aim to improve road conditions along Metro Manila’s busiest thoroughfare, especially during the year-end holiday period when traffic volume is lighter.
According to the DPWH–National Capital Region, repair activities will run 24 hours a day and are expected to conclude by 5 a.m. on January 5.
Concrete Reblocking Works
Concrete reblocking will be carried out on several sections of EDSA in both directions. Southbound works will cover areas from EDSA corner Taft Avenue to FB Harrison, near the HomeExpo Building Depot up to P. Celle Street, and from the Ayala Underpass exit to San Lorenzo Village.
Northbound reblocking is scheduled from Roxas Boulevard near the Heritage Hotel to Sgt. Mariano, from Park Avenue to EDSA Orense, and on select portions between Orense and Shell McKinley. The works involve removing and replacing damaged concrete slabs to restore structural integrity.
Asphalt Overlay for Smoother Travel
In addition to reblocking, asphalt overlay works will be implemented in stages on both northbound and southbound lanes. Northbound resurfacing will cover areas from Tramo to E. Rodriguez, E. Rodriguez to Kalayaan Avenue, Roxas Boulevard to FB Harrison, and sections near the Ayala Underpass to Urdaneta Subdivision.
Southbound asphalt overlay is scheduled from Loring Street to Roxas Boulevard, from the Ayala Underpass to Tramo Bus Station, and from Palm Drive to the Ayala Underpass. These overlays aim to improve ride quality and address surface-level road deterioration.
Traffic Advisory and Next Steps
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes in areas affected by construction. DPWH noted that traffic remained light during the first phase of works, which began on Christmas Eve and ran until December 27.
The EDSA Bus Carousel continues operations despite temporary lane closures, with traffic personnel deployed to manage affected sections. After January 5, succeeding repair activities will be limited to nighttime hours, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., to minimize disruption.
