The Pinoy Playlist Music Festival (PPMF) is back for its 7th year this November, bringing a vibrant celebration of Filipino music to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) from November 15 to 17, 2024. With the theme "Tuloy ang Musika, Tulay ng Buhay," this year’s festival promises a dynamic mix of performances, industry insights, and tributes to Filipino music legends. Here’s a look at what’s in store.
A Showcase of Filipino Music Across Genres
PPMF 2024 will feature over 300 artists performing across multiple genres, from classical orchestras and choirs to rock bands, pop soloists, and more. Performances will take place at BGC Arts Center and 5th Avenue, spotlighting the incredible diversity of Filipino music. Curated by Ryan Cayabyab (National Artist for Music), Moy Ortiz (singer-songwriter), and Noel Ferrer (filmmaker), the festival highlights both established and emerging artists, ensuring something for everyone—from jazz and classical to indie and contemporary OPM.
Industry Insights and Conversations
In addition to the performances, PPMF 2024 will host valuable conversations with industry leaders. Day 1 features a panel on *"Owning Your Song: Copyright and Intellectual Property,"* led by Atty. Ivan Mendez and Atty. Marivic Benedicto. On Day 2, Jonathan Manalo will discuss the challenges and opportunities for *"Emerging Filipino Artists."* On Day 3, Vince de Jesus and Audie Gemora will explore the *"State of Theater and Musicals."* These sessions are perfect for aspiring artists and anyone looking to understand the business side of the music industry.
