A travel publication based in New York listed Palawan as one of the top islands to visit in the world in 2024.
With a reader score of 90.59, Palawan was ranked 13th out of the "25 Best Islands to Visit Around the World." by Travel + Leisure's 2024 World's Best Awards list.
“This thin island off the western coast of the Philippines is known for its unparalleled natural beauty, including limestone cliffs, lagoons, and rain forests,” according to Travel + Leisure.
Unparalleled beauty
Being one of the Philippines' last ecological frontiers, Palawan has been called an island of "unparalleled natural beauty."
The travel magazine's list of the top five Asian islands for 2024 also included Palawan.
According to the website, tourists can experience the delights of the Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park, which is one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Readers were asked to assess their travel experiences in hotels, resorts, cities, islands, airlines, and other locations as either exceptional, above average, average, below average, or awful for the Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards.
Joining other famous natural beauties
The well-known Maldives is at the top of the list, followed by Phú Qu?c, Vietnam, and Bali, Indonesia, in third place.
Palawan beat out other famous sites such as the Fiji Islands in Oceania, Phuket in Thailand, Sicily in Italy, and Paros in Greece.
With its immaculate beaches, limestone cliffs, secret lagoons, and verdant jungles, Palawan is renowned as a sanctuary for environment lovers.
