The Philippine Travel Mart (PTM), the longest-running travel expo in the nation, is scheduled to open on September 6 with a wider lineup of exhibitors and packages for travelers.

The three-day event– which takes place at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City until September 8–is expected to have at least 300 exhibitors, the most they have had since the pandemic, according to the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA).

Tour operators, tourism offices, travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and resorts will all be at the event, offering exclusive travel packages, discounts, and bargains for attendees.

Half-priced packages

Robinsons Hotels and Resorts announced that it will be one of the exhibitors that will provide discounts of up to 50% on stays during the event.

Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines guaranteed “special rates” for both domestic and international flights in the exhibition.

According to PHILTOA, this year's PTM will also demonstrate how prepared the industry is to accept "NextGen," or Next Generation Tourism, as the travel industry's direction.

Possible ripple effects

Maria Margarita Nograles, Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), expressed her support for the fair and optimism about its ability to contribute to the nation's expanding MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibits) industry.

“This year's Philippine Travel Mart comes at an opportune time to build on the momentum gained by the industry,” she said.

The PTM entrance cost is PHP100, however starting next week, tickets will be available for pre-sale via the organizers' website for PHP80.
