Cavite Invests P500-M to Modernize Healthcare Facilities

The Cavite provincial government is allocating P500 million to improve public healthcare infrastructure and services as part of its ongoing efforts to provide better medical care for its more than 4.3 million residents.

The investment was announced by Gov. Francisco Gabriel “Abeng” Remulla after he recently visited several local health facilities. The funding will be used to upgrade the General Emilio Aguinaldo Hospital (GEAMH) Cavite Provincial Hospital and the Cavite Center for Mental Health, with the projects aimed at improving hospital operations and expanding access to quality healthcare.

Funding to Upgrade Hospitals

According to the provincial government, P300 million has been allocated for GEAMH, while the remaining P200 million will be directed to the Cavite Center for Mental Health.

The funding will support the rehabilitation and enhancement of hospital facilities, alongside the acquisition of modern medical equipment intended to improve the delivery of healthcare services.

Provincial officials said these improvements form part of the local government's broader initiative to strengthen the province's healthcare system and ensure that public hospitals are equipped to meet the growing medical needs of Caviteños.

Support for Frontline Healthcare Workers

Remulla also emphasized that infrastructure upgrades will go hand in hand with continued assistance for healthcare professionals serving in the province.

In his statement, the governor said, “Patuloy nating inuuna ang kalusugan. Naniniwala tayo na magagawa natin ito kung may maayos na ospital at sapat na suporta sa ating medical frontliners. Direktang nararamdaman ng publiko ang kalidad na serbisyo (We continue to prioritize health. We believe we could do this by ensuring better hospital and facilities and support for our medical frontliners. The public directly benefits from the quality health service).”

The provincial government said its continued investments are intended to create a more efficient and responsive healthcare network capable of providing better services to residents while giving medical frontliners the facilities and resources they need to perform their work effectively.

For Cavite residents, the planned hospital upgrades could translate into improved access to modern healthcare services, better-equipped medical facilities, and enhanced patient care. More broadly, investments in public health infrastructure contribute to stronger local healthcare systems that can better respond to the needs of growing communities across the country.
