A P3-billion port and industrial complex is being developed on a seven-hectare property in Lemery, Batangas, marking a significant leap forward for the region’s economic infrastructure. Spearheaded by Sinisian Lemery Batangas Port & Industrial Park Corp., this ambitious project promises to invigorate local industry and commerce.
Three Key Components
The complex will have three major components: the Sinisian Lemery Batangas Port & Industrial Park, the Lemery Cement Silo Tank, and the Lemery Oil Terminal. Each one represents an investment of over P1 billion, showcasing a strong commitment to the area’s growth.
The port–with a depth of 15 meters–will accommodate Panamax-sized oil tankers and cargo ships, greatly enhancing the region’s maritime capabilities. The Lemery Cement Silo Tank is set to hold up to 60,000 metric tons of bulk cement and slag, supporting the construction industry with much-needed resources.
The Lemery Oil Terminal, projected to be fully operational by January 2025, will feature a storage capacity of over 170 million liters. Unioil Petroleum Inc. has already secured a slot as a client and tenant, highlighting the terminal’s strategic importance and the trust major companies place in this development.
Boosting Regional Growth and Stability
Ferdinand Co, president of Sinisian Lemery Batangas Port & Industrial Park Corp., emphasized the transformative impact of the new oil facility. "The oil facility will be essential to increase the fuel inventory/security, support the increase in demand, and improve logistics, particularly for NCR, Calabarzon, and Southern Luzon," Co stated.
The Co family, with their established business in cement and construction supply trading, sees this expansion into industrial storage facilities as a proactive step to bolster the local economy. By addressing the global supply chain disruptions experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing challenges due to geopolitical tensions, this project aims to provide stability and growth opportunities for domestic industries.
