QC Hosts Region’s Largest Board Game Expo This May

Quezon City is set to once again become a hub for gaming and creative communities as it prepares to host one of the region’s biggest board game events this year. The upcoming All aBOARD Expo 2026 is expected to draw a diverse crowd, from casual players to industry professionals, reinforcing the city’s growing role in cultural and creative gatherings.

The local government, in partnership with Gaming Library, confirmed that the multi-day event will take place from May 28 to 31, 2026, at the M.I.C.E. Center located within the Quezon City Hall Complex. Organizers are opening registration across six different pass types, accommodating both general attendees and those seeking premium experiences.

Major Tournaments, Global Guests, and New Releases

Visitors can expect a packed lineup of activities, including appearances from international personalities and the launch of exclusive board game content. Competitive players will also have the opportunity to take part in major events such as the Asia Championship of Unmatched and Grand Archive Regionals, alongside tournaments featuring titles like Cascadia and Harmonies Catan.

Ticket pricing varies depending on access level. VIP passes are priced from P1,000 to P5,500 and come with perks such as collectible items, exclusive freebies, and board games valued at up to P4,000. Meanwhile, non-city residents may enter for P150, while “QCitizens” with valid identification, along with children aged 12 and below, are granted free admission.

Beyond competitions, the expo will offer learning sessions, workshops, and community-driven activities designed to engage both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts. Organizers also highlighted expanded partnerships, larger prize pools, and publisher showcases as part of this year’s program.

More than 200 exclusive board games are expected to be introduced during the event, including localized versions of international bestsellers, further strengthening the Philippines’ presence in the global board gaming scene.

“Through partnerships such as this, Quezon City continues to be a hub of creativity and global culture. The All aBoard Expo proves that our city can bring together different communities and industries in celebration of learning and shared experiences,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

City Administrator Michael Alimurung noted that the event has evolved into more than just a convention.

“Residents and visitors alike are already excited for 2026 because they know it will bring new ways to learn, connect and celebrate community,” he said.

Building a Growing Gaming Culture

Organizers from Gaming Library emphasized that the event aims to expand its reach even further this year following a record-breaking turnout in the previous edition. With more international creators and larger-scale competitions lined up, expectations are high for another milestone gathering.

“This year, we aim to break barriers. All aBoard Expo 2026 is much-awaited because it will bring in more international creators, bigger tournaments, and new gaming experiences that Southeast Asia has never seen before,” CEO Hans Kenner Fernandez said.

“It’s not just a convention, it’s the start of a tradition that gamers from all walks of life look forward to every year,” he added.

Backed by the city’s tourism initiatives, the expo reflects a broader push to promote cultural innovation while boosting local engagement and tourism. For many Filipinos, events like this highlight how creative industries can bring people together, support local communities, and position cities like Quezon City as key players in regional cultural exchange.
