The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost)'s next-day delivery service would now allow Metro Manila residents to receive their products more quickly and efficiently. This will improve its competitiveness in the logistics sector, optimize operations, and meet the growing need for dependable and quick delivery services, the agency said in a press release.

"The new delivery system aims to optimize service across the densely populated region, which represents a significant portion of PHLPost's delivery volume," the agency wrote in a social media post.

Tapping into express mail hubs

In order to better serve its clients, the agency will make use of Express Mail Service (EMS) delivery hubs located throughout Metro Manila, guaranteeing next-day delivery and improving its domestic and international express mail services.

In addition to an existing hub in Pasay City, new hubs will open at the Manila, Quezon City, and Makati Central Post Offices, according to Alvin Fidelson of PHLPost's Corporate Communications Division.

Makati will then serve Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, and Pateros; Manila will serve Manila and San Juan; and Quezon City will serve Caloocan, Malabon, Marikina, Navotas, Novaliches, Quezon City, and Valenzuela. Pasay, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Taguig are set to be served by the CMEC.

As long as it makes the cut off

The cutoff time varies by location; depending on the post office, most NCR locations require products to be mailed by 2:00 PM or 3:30 PM.

Domestic express mail sent from post offices after the cutoff time will be delivered within 48 hours under the new service structure.

Meanwhile, PHLPost is using its bilateral agreements with 56 nations and participation in the Universal Postal Union to expedite international EMS shipments in addition to its domestic offerings.
