Quezon City is set to gather health professionals, policymakers, and partner agencies this June 20–21 for the first-ever Quezon City Health Network (QCHN) Annual Convention, a major step toward building a more inclusive and unified local health system.
The event, to be held at the M.I.C.E. (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Center, supports the full implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law in the city.
“This is not just a conference; it’s a movement,” said Mayor Joy Belmonte. “We are making it clear that health is a right, not a privilege, and we are committed to building a system where no one is left behind,” she added.
With the theme “Strengthening Local Healthcare: Advancement, Innovation, and Inclusive Health for Quezon City,” the event highlights QC’s strategy of bringing together healthcare providers to deliver coordinated care for all residents.
Addressing Urgent Health Concerns
Throughout the two-day convention, experts will present solutions to some of the most urgent health challenges facing the city today. Topics include geriatric care, child malnutrition, mental health integration, and antimicrobial stewardship, alongside innovations in nutrition programs, planning, and digital health systems.
Adding a legislative perspective, District 1 Councilor Dorothy Delarmente, a physician and Majority Floor Leader, will discuss key ordinances designed to support Quezon City’s healthcare priorities.
Building Stronger Partnerships
More than just a medical gathering, the convention underscores the city’s whole-of-government approach to healthcare. Representatives from the Social Services Development Department, Persons with Disability Affairs Office, and the Kabahagi Center for Children with Disabilities will share how inclusive, rights-based frameworks are shaping QC’s services.
“This is how we break silos—working across sectors to make sure healthcare is fair, accessible, and grounded in social justice,” said Convention Chair and QC Chief Health Care Operations Officer Dave Anthony Vergara.
