Revamping stores in the Metro
Headlining the list of new Uniqlo stores is the new and revamped Uniqlo SM Mall of Asia.
The UT and lifewear items are now located on two store floors. Apart from these stylish items, the flagship store also offers Uniqlo Coffee, which is made with locally sourced beans.
Uniqlo Coffee also sells pastries like cheesecakes and biscuits as well as sweet, cold delicacies like gelatos with flavors like Filipino Tablea and Japanese green tea, Hojicha.
The SM Mall of Asia location opened its doors as the nation's first Uniqlo store in 2012.
New Luzon malls
There will also be soon-to-open malls in key Luzon areas where the Japanese retail brand could inject its presence.
According to SM Supermalls president Steven Tan, SM malls will soon rise in Laoag City and La Union province and will be the first SM malls in these areas.
Tan said that some of these malls will "blend with the [local] community," like the SM in La Union, the surfing mecca of the Philippines, which will have more "timber" and "beige" in its design.
