A Global Phenomenon, Reimagined on a Massive Scale

Billed as the most expansive incarnation of Les Misérables ever staged, the production transforms the acclaimed Staged Concert format into a full-scale theatrical event where audiences can expect dramatic sets, immersive projections, and dynamic lighting, elevating the musical’s emotional intensity and visual impact beyond previous Philippine productions.

With more than 110 cast and crew members, the production brings together an international ensemble of performers and musicians, including Filipino artists performing live on stage. This larger-than-life staging underscores why Les Misérables continues to captivate audiences worldwide, more than four decades after its debut.

The Visionaries Behind the Musical Masterpiece

Produced by Cameron Mackintosh, the musical is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo. The score, composed by Schönberg with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, includes some of the most recognizable songs in musical theater history.

The production is directed by James Powell and Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy, with design by Matt Kinley and lighting by Paule Constable and Warren Letton. The orchestra will be conducted by Adrian Kirk, ensuring the sweeping music of Les Misérables is delivered with full emotional force.

Filipino Theater Artists Join International Cast

The Manila run is further highlighted by the participation of Filipino theater performers in major roles, performing alongside an international cast.

Lea Salonga stars as Madame Thénardier, while Rachelle Ann Go appears as Fantine. They are joined by Red Concepción as Thénardier and Emily Bautista as Éponine, continuing the strong Filipino presence in global musical theater.

Leading the cast are Gerónimo Rauch as Jean Valjean and Jeremy Secomb as Inspector Javert, with Will Callan, Lulu-Mae Pears, Harry Chandler, and Earl Carpenter completing the principal ensemble.

With its scale, international cast, and prominent Filipino participation, Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular positions Manila as a key stop in one of musical theater’s biggest global tours.
