Following a terrifying occurrence during his team's NCAA Season 100 Seniors Basketball Tournament game, JM Bravo is in good spirits as he aims for a return to the court once he fully recovers from his on-court seizure.
During Bravo's fourth game of the season, an awful collision resulted from a scramble for a loose ball, where Bravo struck the back of Renzo Abiera's head with his chin, causing him to fall unconscious.
Not wanting to go down
Bravo was informed that he might be required to spend a few days in the hospital and have neurospecialists watch him.
When Bravo had the opportunity to speak with Herc Callanta, the athletic director of the Lyceum and head of the NCAA Management Committee–just hours after recovering–he was far from considering the repercussions of losing consciousness.
Callanta gave him the assurance that he might rejoin the Pirates if doctors cleared him to play.
Bravo and the other Pirates would still have to decide whether it is still possible to get the 6-foot-2 wingman back into the lineup and finish the team's season.
Discharged and recovering
Bravo was told to skip practices in the interim even though Callanta stated that the Computed Tomography (CT) scan showed no indications of anything dangerous.
His previous back issue from the first round had nothing to do with this incident.
Callanta believes that when Bravo is ready, he will eventually be allowed to play and return to the sport he loves.
