The International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) is set to make a significant impact on September 21, 2024, with a massive clean-up effort taking place across 15 SM Supermalls in the Philippines.

This year’s event promises to be the largest yet, with participating locations including SM By the Bay at SM Mall of Asia Complex, SM Tuguegarao Downtown, SM City Tuguegarao, SM City Bataan, SM City Olongapo Central, SM City Olongapo Downtown, SM City Sorsogon, SM City Legazpi, SM Daet, SM City Puerto Princesa, SM City Roxas, SM City Cebu, SM City Seaside Cebu, SM City Mindpro, and SM City General Santos.

Each mall will act as a hub for local clean-up activities, bringing together communities in a unified effort to enhance the health and cleanliness of our coastlines.

Building on a Legacy of Success

In 2023, the ICC achieved remarkable results with over 17,000 volunteers collecting more than 100,000 kg of waste from our coastlines. This year, in honor of SM Cares’ 20th anniversary, the organization has set an ambitious goal: to double the waste collected to 200,000 kg and increase volunteer participation to 20,000. These targets not only celebrate two decades of environmental advocacy but also emphasize the critical role of community involvement in achieving meaningful environmental change.

SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, drives various initiatives that focus on sustainability and community support, including programs for women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and youth. This year's ICC is a prime opportunity for individuals to engage in a significant environmental effort and contribute to a cleaner, healthier planet.
