Filipinos and eligible foreign travelers can now skip long airport queues by paying their travel tax online through the eGovPH Super App or the eTravel platform. The new digital service was officially launched in a ceremony led by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) in Pasay City, in collaboration with several government agencies.

Faster, Easier Travel Tax Processing

The Department of Tourism (DOT) described the online payment option as a “centralized, secure, and user-friendly” system that removes the need for in-person transactions. With just a few taps on their smartphones, travelers can now settle their travel tax obligations before arriving at the airport, significantly improving the overall departure experience.

Who Needs to Pay—and How Much

The travel tax applies to Filipino citizens, foreign passport holders classified as taxable, and foreigners who have stayed in the Philippines for more than one year. Full travel tax rates range from PHP1,620 for economy-class passengers to PHP2,700 for first-class tickets. The revenue supports tourism infrastructure through TIEZA and educational programs via the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

A Unified Push for Government Digitalization

The digital integration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda, represented by Undersecretaries Christina Faye Condez-de Sagon and David Almirol. Also present were Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Secretary Ernesto Perez and Tourism Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano.

The eGovPH Super App continues to expand its features, offering a one-stop platform for various government services aimed at boosting efficiency and accessibility for all citizens.
