Philippine Airlines (PAL) has officially launched direct flights between Manila and Da Nang, Vietnam, further expanding its international network. The thrice-weekly service operates every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with a planned increase to four flights per week by November.

Flight PR 585 departs Manila at 11:10 a.m., arriving in Da Nang at 12:45 p.m. The return flight, PR 586, leaves Da Nang at 1:35 p.m. and arrives at Ninoy Aquino International Airport by 5:10 p.m. The route is served by Airbus A321 aircraft, which can accommodate 199 passengers.

A Symbol of Stronger Ties

The new route was celebrated during a send-off ceremony at NAIA Terminal 1, where Vietnam Ambassador to the Philippines Lai Thai Binh described the flight as “a bridge between our people, cultures, and shared dreams.” The launch is seen as timely, with the 10th anniversary of the Philippines-Vietnam strategic partnership being marked this year and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations coming in 2026.

Tourism Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano also praised the initiative, saying it responds to the growing demand for convenient travel between the two countries, as Vietnam remains a top destination for Filipino travelers, and the Philippines welcomes more Vietnamese tourists.

Da Nang: Gateway to Central Vietnam

Da Nang is known for its long stretches of white-sand beaches, vibrant culinary scene, and mix of modern and historic attractions. Travelers can explore the nearby ancient town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or marvel at the dramatic Marble Mountains. One of the city’s most iconic landmarks is the Dragon Bridge, a 666-meter-long structure shaped like a dragon that breathes fire and water on weekends—a favorite among visitors.
