Dagupan City is once again bringing out the grills and good vibes for the much-anticipated Bangus Festival 2025, happening from April 9 to May 1. With events highlighting culture, food, and community spirit, this year’s celebration promises something for everyone.

The festival kicks off with a fun run on April 9, aiming to raise awareness on disaster preparedness. Mayor Belen Fernandez said it’s a timely reminder for residents to stay ready in the face of calamities, especially with what’s happening in other parts of the world.

One of the most awaited highlights, the Gilon-Gilon ed Baley Street Dancing Competition, takes center stage on April 26. Expect vibrant costumes, lively music, and dancers performing traditional fish-harvesting moves right on the city streets.

Celebrating the Star of the Show—Bangus

Then on April 28, it's all about bangus. The Bangus Rodeo returns with exciting contests like the fastest bangus sorter and heaviest bangus challenge. Foodies will also love the Bangusine, where chefs whip up unique dishes starring Dagupan’s famous milkfish.

These activities shine a spotlight on Dagupan’s rich fishing culture and the milkfish industry that has earned the city national recognition.

Bangusan Street Party to Draw Massive Crowd

But the biggest crowd-puller happens on April 30—the legendary Bangusan Street Party. Organizers aim to grill 20,000 bangus on 1,100 grills along De Venecia Road. Each one-meter grill, available for PHP 4,000, includes five kilos of bangus, charcoal, and all the essentials for a cookout. Last year’s party drew a crowd of around one million people, giving a major boost to local businesses.

Music lovers won’t also be disappointed either. This year’s lineup includes performances by TJ Monteverde, KC Tandingan, Spongecola, and Karylle, lighting up multiple stages across the party zone.

Mayor Fernandez assured the public that safety is a top priority, with security measures in place to keep the festivities smooth and safe.
