In order to address potential solutions to the issue of traffic, the government will host a traffic summit to find ways to improve the traffic situation.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. mentioned that while long-term infrastructure solutions are being developed, there is an urgent need for relief from traffic problems.

The town hall-style summit, titled "Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting On Traffic Concerns," would take place at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Improving mobility

In his vlog, Marcos stated that one of the main goals for addressing the traffic issues is to develop and improve mobility in the neighboring provinces of Metro Manila, such as Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, and Cavite.

In addition, he urged drivers and commuters to maintain composure and follow traffic regulations while they wait for major infrastructure projects to be finished.

“Ang higit nating kakulangang mga Pilipino sa daan ay ang disiplina. Dapat susunod tayo sa traffic rules. Para tayong mauubusan lagi ng kalye. Bago man ang kalye, kung luma pa rin ang ugali natin, wala rin," Marcos said.

This came after Marcos made a directive to the other government arms to abandon patchwork approaches to Metro Manila's traffic problems and create a coherent plan to handle the crisis, which is the ultimate goal of the summit.

Part of Pinoy life

Marcos also expressed his sadness that traffic congestion is a common occurrence in Filipino life, calling it one of the nation's biggest difficulties.

According to Marcos, prior administrations have tried a variety of approaches to address the traffic problem, with varying degrees of success.

Even though Filipinos are accustomed to the issue, he continued, there should still be ongoing research into remedies.

He also recommended using a four-day workweek and work-from-home arrangement, both of which he claimed could help with the traffic issue.
