The third leg of the Korean LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Dream Tour's first international tournaments will be co-hosted by the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) at The Country Club in Santa Rosa, Laguna, from February 12 to 14.

The best Filipina golfers, including Harmie Constantino, Daniella Uy, Chanelle Avaricio, Mikha Fortuna, Mafy Singson, Marvi Monsalve, Florence Bisera, Chihiro Ikeda, Sarah Ababa, and Korean phenom Jiwon Lee–who is living in Manila–will compete in the historic 54-hole competition.

Rich prize pool

The Sta. Barbara Country Club. Rosa, Laguna, has a $200,000 prize pool and a formidable field of 132 players, including 32 LPGT players and 50 notable contestants from the LPGA of Taiwan (TLPGA) and the Korean LPGT Dream Tour.

"The KLPGA has established itself as a golf hub in Asia and is making a leap into a global tour. This event marks a significant milestone for the KLPGA," KLPGA chief executive officer Lee Young-mi said in a news release.

“We will do our utmost to ensure its success, providing a platform for players to excel and for the KLPGA to grow into a truly global tour,” he added.

Advancing PH golf scene

The Philippines' dedication to developing women's golf is demonstrated by their co-hosting of a KLPGA event.

The LPGT has broadened its scope since collaborating with TLPGA in 2015, and as a result, starting in 2018, LPGT competitions have been successfully held in Taiwan.

"This partnership reinforces our mission to develop and elevate Philippine ladies’ professional golf to new heights," general manager of co-organizer Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc., Colo Ventosa, said.
