At the end of the continental qualifying phase, the Philippines secured a spot in the 2025 AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup. The Philippines qualified for the continental finale by finishing the qualifiers with two victories, one draw, and one defeat for seven points, in Group C.
First-ever Asian Cup appearance
The Philippines will participate in the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup for the first time, taking place in China from May 6–17.
Less than a year before the Philippines will host the FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup, the program–which had been winless until the national program reorganization at the end of last year–has suddenly been revitalized.
The Filipinas earned a spot in the Asian Cup by defeating Kuwait and Turkmenistan in the competition and drawing with the host country, Uzbekistan.
Following Uzbekistan's 5-2 victory over Turkmenistan later in the day, the Philippines dropped to third place in Group C following their loss to Australia.
Among the top futsal nations
Thailand, Bahrain, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Chinese Taipei have also qualified to the Asian Cup.
The competition featured outright entries from host China, Japan, and Iran, two-time champions.
The Philippines will host the FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup later this year.
