Cup of Joe’s Year in Review
“It’s incredibly overwhelming to see our songs become part of people’s playlists and their big moments this year, it reminds us that we’ve somehow become part of their story. Knowing that someone found comfort or connection in our music is one of the best feelings. We’re excited to grow, experiment, and share more pieces of ourselves with our listeners,” the band shared in a statement.
To celebrate the year’s standout artist, Spotify created a “Multo” installation at NEO Park in Bonifacio Global City from Dec. 4 to 7, offering fans an immersive experience inspired by the track’s eerie atmosphere.
The annual Spotify Wrapped, launched for eligible users across the Philippines, also highlighted other local favorites, showing that Filipino listeners continue to favor music that feels personal and emotionally resonant. Earl Agustin’s “Tibok” landed at No. 2, Dionela’s “Marilag” at No. 3, Amiel Sol’s “Sa Bawat Sandali” at No. 4, and HELLMERRY’s “My Day” rounded out the Top 5.
The Rise of Local Artists and Podcasts
The top local artist rankings saw December Avenue in second place, followed by Arthur Nery, Dionela, and TJ Monterde, reflecting the diversity of homegrown talent that has steadily captured the Filipino audience’s attention. Alongside music, podcasts remained a staple for many, with “Barangay Love Stories” once again claiming the top spot.
Other popular podcasts included “Papa Dudut Stories,” “Will Talks,” “Dear MOR,” and “Sitio Bangungot: Pinoy Horror Stories,” highlighting a mix of heartwarming, entertaining, and chilling content that resonates with listeners nationwide.
Spotify Wrapped 2025 also introduced new interactive features, including Listening Age, Top Albums, Fan Leaderboard, and AI-powered Listening Archive, giving users a personalized reflection of their music journey throughout the year.
The dominance of Cup of Joe and the continued popularity of Filipino music and podcasts underscore the growing influence of local content in the national cultural landscape. These trends reflect not just musical preference but also a shared connection to stories, emotions, and experiences that feel uniquely theirs.
