The country’s longest-running annual visual arts fair, ManilART, has returned for its 17th year, pushing artistic expression beyond its usual frames. With the theme “Across Forms, Beyond Borders,” ManilART 2025 explores the rich intersections between art and other creative disciplines, from cuisine to fashion and digital media.

Held from October 15 to 19 at the SMX Aura Convention Center in Taguig City, this year’s edition brought together visual artists, cultural practitioners, and innovators who share a common goal: to showcase how creativity transcends boundaries.

Art Meets Cuisine and Culture

Among the fair’s standout projects is its collaboration with Coco Kusina Philippine Coconut Kitchen. The partnership highlights the relationship between heritage cuisine and visual arts, featuring artisanal ingredients, local flavors, and traditional culinary practices presented as an art form.

There were also exhibits where fashion collections were inspired by paintings, sculptures, mirrored textile designs, and digital artworks reimagined physical media. This creative blend underscored how Filipino artistry continues to evolve while staying rooted in cultural identity.

The 2025 roster of exhibitors included a diverse mix of galleries and collectives:

ManilART 2025 also went beyond exhibitions by strengthening its commitment to education and cultural discourse. Talks, panels, and workshops brought together global Filipinos from across sectors like cuisine, literature, and the visual arts, expanding the conversation on how Filipino creativity resonates worldwide.

“ManilART 2025 celebrates the cyclical nature of inspiration, and how creative themes across disciplines and generations constantly reinterpret themselves in new forms,” said Amy Loste, ManilART founder and president, during the press conference.

The five-day fair also coincided with satellite shows nationwide, extending its reach to regional audiences. This year’s edition partnered with the inaugural San Pablo Art Circuit (SaPAC) in Laguna, featuring a month-long “Artstravaganza” in 10 venues.

Among the participating spaces were the Art Barn at Casa San Pablo, Art Corridor, Color Commune at Sining Labuyo, Fule-Malvar Heritage Mansion, the Lake House, Paraiso de Avedad Gallery, Studio 88, Sulyap Cafe Gallery & Museum, Verbena Gallery of Patis Tesoro, and Villa Escudero Museum.

By bridging disciplines, ManilART 2025 reaffirms that art has no borders—only infinite possibilities for expression and connection.
