Kilig alert: Katrina Halili and Kris Lawrence are officially back together, and they let their daughter help break the news.
The couple confirmed their relationship status in the latest episode of their vlog, titled “It’s Official,” uploaded on Sunday, Sept. 27, the Inquirer reported.
Katie Spills the Tea
In the vlog, Katrina and Kris went back and forth over who would make the official announcement.
Then their daughter Katie, who was hiding under a blanket, shouted, “Sila na po,” according to the Inquirer.
When Katrina asked Katie when her parents officially got back together, Katie answered: “September 13.”
At another point in the video, the two made the announcement themselves by shouting, “Kami na.”
At the end of the vlog, Katie said she was happy her parents were back together, the Inquirer reported.
“KAMI NA Bahala”
Kris followed up on Facebook with a selfie of the two of them.
GMA News described it as having a grassy field in the background.
“New chapter. I told you I gotchu, and I meant that. No need to rush anything… One Step at a Time, enjoying where this takes us. All I know is I’m happy… KAMI NA bahala where this new chapter takes us,” the singer wrote.
Philstar reported that the post set off a “kilig” frenzy among fans.
It said the pair’s sweet videos and photos, often featuring Katie, have drawn massive likes and a big following among fans hoping for a second chance between them.
A Love Story, Take Two
Katrina and Kris were in a relationship for five years before they broke up in 2014, according to the Inquirer and GMA.
Philstar put the relationship timeline at 2008 to 2014.
Their daughter Katie was born in 2012.
Despite the breakup, the two maintained a positive co-parenting relationship over the years, the Inquirer noted.
The road back took a while.
Earlier this year, their wholesome vlogs sparked reconciliation talk. In April, the two clarified that they were not back together, according to a related Philstar report.
Kris then confirmed in June that he was officially courting Katrina again, Philstar and GMA reported.
GMA also noted that Kris earlier visited Katrina on the set of the Kapuso Afternoon Prime series “Kamao.”
One Step at a Time
For now, the couple is keeping things light.
Kris’s own words: no rushing, “one step at a time,” and “all I know is I’m happy.”
After years of co-parenting and months of courtship, “Kami na” has finally gone from a fan wish to an official announcement, with Katie as the proudest witness.
